Manvita Kamath, also previously known as Manvita Harish and Shwetha Kamath, is a talented Indian actress primarily working in the Kannada film industry. Born on April 13th in Mangalore, she was raised in Kalasa, Chikmagalur, up until completing her SSLC. She pursued her Pre-University and Degree education at Sharada PU College and later graduated in Journalism, Animation, and English literature from St. Aloysius College in Mangalore. Before venturing into acting, she worked at Radio Mirchi in Mangalore, hosting a show called "Khiladi 983."
Her acting journey commenced when she transitioned from being a Radio Jockey to becoming an actress in the Kannada film industry, making her debut in the film "Kendasampige" in 2015, directed by Duniya Soori. Manvita's multifaceted talent and fluency in different dialects of Kannada appealed to the director during auditions, ultimately securing her the lead role. Her proficiency in various Kannada dialects like Mangalore Kannada, Malnad Kannada, Dharwad Kannada, and Bengaluru Kannada proved advantageous for the role.
Manvita Kamath's exposure to theaters since childhood, along with her active involvement in folk drama and her tenure as the secretary of Kannada Sangha during college, contributed significantly to her decision to pursue a career in films.
Her performance in "Kendasampige" opposite Vikky Varun received commercial success, propelling her further into the industry. She continued to showcase her talent in subsequent films such as "Chowka" in a cameo role, "Kanaka," "Tagaru," "Tharakaasura," "Relax Satya," "India Vs England," "Shiva 143," and upcoming projects like "Rajasthan Diaries" and "Happily Married."
Manvita Kamath's prowess as an actress earned her critical acclaim and several awards, including the Best Debutant Actress - Kannada at the 5th SIIMA Awards for "Kendasampige." Her outstanding performance in "Tagaru" won her the Best Actress award at the 66th Filmfare Awards South, TSR TV9 Film Award for Special Jury Award for Best Actress - Kannada, and recognition at the 8th SIIMA Awards, among other nominations and wins.
