Amrita Arora


Amrita Arora Ladak, an Indian actress, model, television presenter, and former video jockey (VJ), has primarily appeared in Hindi-language films. Born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, she hails from a diverse background, with her father being Punjabi Hindu and her mother Malyali. She is the younger sister of Malaika Arora, a well-known personality in the Indian entertainment industry.

Amrita completed her secondary education at Swami Vivekanand School in Chembur, where her aunt Grace Polycarp served as the principal.

In 2009, she married Shakeel Ladak, a businessman in the construction industry. The wedding ceremonies included a Christian wedding followed by Mehendi and a Muslim Nikah ceremony. The couple has two sons, Azaan (born February 5, 2010) and Rayaan (born October 20, 2012).

Amrita Arora started her career as a VJ for MTV before making her Bollywood debut in 2002 alongside Fardeen Khan in "Kitne Door Kitne Paas," which didn't perform well at the box office. Her breakthrough came with the action comedy "Awara Paagal Deewana." However, she faced a series of film flops thereafter, including "Girlfriend" (2004), which portrayed a lesbian relationship opposite Isha Koppikar.

In 2007, she made special appearances in Farah Khan's "Om Shanti Om," featuring in the song "Deewangi Deewangi" alongside her sister Malaika Arora and former brother-in-law Arbaaz Khan. She also appeared in films like "Speed" and "Red: The Dark Side" the same year.

Her filmography includes a variety of roles in movies such as "Mujhse Shaadi Karogi," "Rakht," "Deha," "Fight Club - Members Only," "Heyy Babyy," "Golmaal Returns," "Kambakkht Ishq," among others. She has made cameo appearances, special song appearances, and portrayed supporting and lead roles across various genres.

In addition to her film career, Amrita Arora has been part of special appearances in songs, guest appearances in films, and has contributed to multiple genres in Bollywood. Her journey in the Indian film industry spans several movies and roles, showcasing her versatility and commitment to her craft.
