Aria: Kerala to K-pop Sensation in X:IN


Aria, also known by her birth name Gauthami, is a versatile Indian artist born on March 12, 2003, in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. She later relocated to Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, with her family during her fifth-grade year, where she completed her schooling. Aria, proficient in four languages including English, Korean, Malayalam, and Hindi, developed a keen interest in K-pop, particularly sparked by BTS's song "Blood Sweat & Tears." This fascination eventually led her to aspire to become a K-pop artist during her middle school years.

Starting her career in the entertainment industry at a young age, Aria made her debut in films with the Malayalam movie "Melvilasom" in 2011, where she portrayed the character Ammu. Her talent in acting continued to shine as she played Arun's daughter in the 2013 film "Thank You."

Aria's journey in the South Korean K-pop industry began when she was selected as a member of GBK Entertainment's MEP-C in 2022. Later, in April 2023, she, along with her former bandmates, debuted as part of the global K-pop girl group X:IN under the banner of Escrow Entertainment. The group's debut song, "Keeping the Fire," marked the beginning of Aria's venture into the dynamic world of K-pop.

As a member of X:IN, Aria contributes her talents as a singer and rapper. The group operates under the Escrow Entertainment label, showcasing Aria's musical prowess in the K-pop genre.

Beyond her music career, Aria's filmography includes roles in "Melvilasom" (2011) and "Thank You" (2013), demonstrating her versatility as an actress.

Aria, also known by the stage name Aami, is a multi-talented artist, seamlessly blending her skills in singing, rapping, and acting. Her journey from a child actor in Malayali films to a prominent member of the global K-pop group X:IN reflects her dedication and passion for the world of entertainment.
