Nikhila Vimal, born on March 9, 1994, in Taliparamba, Kerala, is an Indian actress making notable strides in the Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu film industries. With a career that began as a child artist, Nikhila has transitioned to leading roles and earned recognition for her versatile performances.

Her journey in cinema began early, with her debut in the 2009 Malayalam film "Bhagyadevatha," where she played the role of Sali Chacko. Although her appearance was brief, it marked the beginning of a promising career. The turning point came in 2015 when she starred in "Love 24x7," a film directed by Sreebala K Menon. In this film, Nikhila played Kabini, a trainee reporter, opposite Dileep. The film not only showcased her acting prowess but also established her as a prominent actress in the industry.

Nikhila's entry into Tamil cinema was marked by her role in "Vetrivel" (2016), where she was cast alongside M. Sasikumar. Despite her role being relatively small, her performance was well-received, leading to further opportunities. She later starred in "Kidaari" (2016), a film produced by M. Sasikumar himself. Her portrayal of Chemba earned her critical acclaim and a nomination for Best Debut Actress at the SIIMA Awards 2017.

Her versatility is evident in her Telugu debut, "Meda Meeda Abbayi" (2017), where she starred opposite Allari Naresh. In Malayalam cinema, her role in "Aravindante Athidhikal" (2018) was particularly well-received, earning her the Most Popular Actress Award at the Kerala Kaumudi Flash Movies Award 2019 and the Best Star Pair of the Year Award at the Vanitha Film Awards 2019. Her role in the Sathyan Anthikad film "Njan Prakashan," alongside Fahadh Faasil, further solidified her reputation.

Nikhila continued to build on her success with notable films like "Thambi" (2019), where she starred alongside Karthi and Jyothika, and "Por Thozhil" (2023), a critically acclaimed Tamil film. Her recent projects include significant roles in "Ayalvaashi" (2023) and the Tamil series "Mathagam" (2023), which have further showcased her acting range.

Her early life was steeped in the arts; Nikhila's mother, Kalamandalam Vimaladevi, is a dancer, and Nikhila herself was well-versed in various dance forms such as Bharata Natyam, Kuchipudi, and Kerala Natanam. She graduated with a B.Sc. in Botany from Sir Syed College, Taliparamba, in 2016, demonstrating her dedication to both academics and the arts.
