"Scam 1992 – The Harshad Mehta Story" is an Indian Hindi-language biographical financial thriller streaming television series available on SonyLIV. Directed by Hansal Mehta, with Jai Mehta serving as the co-director, the series is based on the 1992 Indian stock market scam, including the involvement of many stockbrokers, most notably Harshad Mehta. The narrative is adapted from the 1992 book "The Scam: Who Won, Who Lost, Who Got Away" by journalists Sucheta Dalal and Debashish Basu. The screenplay and dialogues were crafted by Sumit Purohit, Saurabh Dey, Vaibhav Vishal, and Karan Vyas.

Pratik Gandhi portrays the protagonist Harshad Mehta, and Shreya Dhanwanthary appears in a parallel lead role as Sucheta Dalal. The series also features Satish Kaushik, Anant Mahadevan, Rajat Kapoor, K K Raina, Lalit Parimoo, Hemant Kher, and Nikhil Dwivedi in pivotal roles. "Scam 1992" delves into Harshad Mehta's life story, detailing his rapid ascent in the financial world and subsequent downfall.

Originally produced by Sameer Nair of Applause Entertainment, the project was officially announced in December 2019. Hansal Mehta dedicated three years to writing the script, resulting in 550 pages. Principal photography commenced soon after the announcement, with filming taking place across 200 locations in Mumbai over 85 days. The shoot concluded in March 2020. Pratham Mehta handled the cinematography, while Sumit Purohit and Kunal Walve edited the series. Achint Thakkar composed the background score.

"Scam 1992" premiered on SonyLIV on October 9, 2020, and received acclaim for the cast performances, writing, and technical aspects. It became the most-viewed web series on the streaming platform. In March 2021, SonyLiv and Applause Entertainment announced a second installment titled "Scam 2003," based on the 2003 Stamp Paper Scam, to be developed by Hansal Mehta.
