Spruha Joshi, born on October 13, 1989, in Dadar, Mumbai, is a multifaceted Indian talent known for her contributions in Marathi television, film, and theatre. Besides being an actress and television anchor, she is also recognized as a poet and lyricist, making her a versatile figure in the Marathi entertainment industry.
Spruha initiated her film acting journey with the 2004 drama film "Maay Baap," portraying the role of a teenage classical music student. However, after her debut, she took a break from films to focus on completing her graduation. During her tenure at Ramnarain Ruia College, she actively participated in various plays, showcasing her theatrical talents in productions such as "GaMaBhaNa," "Yugmak," "Ek Aur Maiyyat," "Santa," "Ek Ashi Vyakti," "Koi Aisa," "Canvas," and "Ananyaa."
Her breakthrough in television came with her role as Uma Band in the show "Agnihotra." She further gained recognition through her performances in projects like the film "Morya" directed by Avadhoot Gupte and the TV show "Eka Lagnachi Dusri Goshta," where she portrayed the character Kuhu alongside Mukta Barve and Swapnil Joshi.
In 2012, Spruha played the lead role of Ramabai Ranade in the series "Unch Maaza Zoka," directed by Viren Pradhan. She also appeared as a child artist in the Marathi serial "De Dhamal" on Zee Marathi.
